Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including time-in-grade restrictions, specialized experience and/or education, as defined below. Time in grade:
Applicants must meet one year at the next lower grade to be considered for the next higher grade (e.g. one year at the GS-12 grade level for consideration for the GS-13 grade level.) For the GS-13 level:
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-12 level) that demonstrates:
Recent professional experience (within the last 5 years) as a food chemist or as a chemist analyzing a wide variety of food products. And Experience must also demonstrate 4 of the following:
Developing or modifying methods to perform chemical and residue analysis; identifying need for development of quantitative/qualitative chemical testing methods and approaches; planning and carrying out projects to satisfy these needs; planning and conducting chemical and residue analysis to solve complex scientific and technical problems, and interpreting findings. And The experience must demonstrate good communication skills in order to write complex protocols, laboratory communications, and scientific publications. And Your resume must demonstrate that you have the ability to lead, manage or supervise diverse groups of professional and technical personnel in a high throughput ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory.
