Environmental Protection Specialist

Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including specialized experience and/or education, as defined below. In order to qualify for this position, you must possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service or private sector. performing investigations, inspections, or oversight activities to ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations; recommending changes to correct any deficiencies found; and preparing environmental assessments, environmental impact statements, or similar documents. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Work requires above average agility, dexterity, and personal strength, and on certain occasions, involves moderate to high-physical risks and discomforts. Inspections of facilities frequently involve climbing ladders, water towers, on roofs, etc., and crouching and crawling under structures and in attic areas, and lifting 50 pounds with appropriate help. Frequent travel to attend meetings and inspections is required

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
